Ægir

Ægir is rich in high-quality calcium carbonate (CaCO3) and is full of essential trace elements. This makes it an effective way of correcting pH and will continue to regulate the pH over a long period of time. Its structure and mineral content are vital for creating healthy and fertile soils.

  • Immediate pH correction

  • Long term pH regulation

  • Rich source of Calcium

  • High in essential trace elements

  • Used in making Bokashi

Ægir is a Seashell Grit that is extracted from natural shell banks in the North Sea. It is a 100% organic, natural and sustainable source of Calcium Carbonate with high levels of trace elements and minerals needed in the soil.

Ægir is used to correct the pH of soils and regulate it in the long term. Due to its structure and composition Ægir also improves the soil structure and water holding capacity helping to create a healthier more fertile soil in both the short and long term.

Ægir is also used to make Bokashi. During the fermentation process lactic acid bacteria can dominate and lower the pH which suppresses other microbes. Using Ægir counters this and allows these vital microbes, like phototropic bacteria and fungi, to populate.

It can be applied onto fields with animals still grazing.
